Betty Lue Williams of Gainesville, Georgia, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16th, 2025.

Betty was born on March 26th, 1941, in Atlanta, GA. Betty worked for the Gwinnett County School System for many years. She was a die-hard UGA fan and a beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Williams Moore; her sister, Peggy Sue Walker; her son-in-law, Steven Douglas Voshall; and her grandchildren, Morgan Ashley (Voshall) Koval and her husband, Sean Koval, and Madison Ann Voshall, as well as many cherished nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Morris Williams; her daughter, Stacey Lynn Williams Voshall; her parents, Herman Young and Bertie Young; and her sweet dogs, PJ and Shorty and cat, Bandit. She is now joyfully reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, where she was greeted with open arms and a loud “Go Dawgs!”.

Betty will be remembered for her delicious food, good-natured laugh, love of road-trips (especially to UGA and Braves games) and as the superstar of the Chamblee High School women’s basketball team and a high-roller on the penny slots at Cherokee Casino. Friends and family fondly recall her penchant for snow crab legs at the beach, or really anywhere. She will be sorely missed, especially in the home shopping TV channel community, where she had a real taste for UGA bedazzled jewelry. Betty was always kind to those around her, and her impact will be lasting.

The family will receive visitors at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 19th, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and a celebration of life will follow at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Harts of Teal at https://hartsofteal.org/donate/ or by mail to Harts of Teal, Inc., PO Box 3845, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Ovarian cancer has no diagnostic test and is characterized by easily overlooked symptoms. Betty’s daughter, Stacey, recently passed away from this disease.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16
