As the memories rush through our minds of Mrs. Betty Ruth Wilson, 94, a woman so loving and so kind.
Betty was born Monday September 22, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Thomas & Rader Culver.
Betty had five brothers, Harold, Earl, Arnold, Edward, & Charles. She had three sisters, Donna Sue, Louise, & Marie.
Betty had three children, Bonnie Jean, Glenda Ruth, & Jimmy Dye. Then she gained two more children, Skip Wilson & Jamia Welch when she married the love of her life, Jimmy Wilson on Wednesday, February 26, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple worked together to build a family and life together. Betty & Jimmy danced through life together for 56 years. When I say danced, they literally danced, in every dance hall around. They built their home in Pershing, Oklahoma. They fished together traveled the United States together.
Betty worked has as a meat wrapper and butcher for Safeway Stores until she retired. Through her life she always had holiday gatherings for the entire family at their home in Pershing, where her love for cooking & family would shine like a silver dollar.
Betty had many losses of loved ones in life, her parents, five brothers & two sisters, three children, and three grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband Jimmy, her sister Marie, son Skip, daughter Jamia, seven grandsons, Gary, Jason, Travis, Lance, Brent, Chris, & Dylan, nine granddaughters, Shelly, Amanda, Heather, Laura, Ashley, Charity, Cassie, Crystal, & Deaven, fifty great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, sister in laws are Emma, Debbie and Charlene and a brother-in-law Bobby. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty gained her Angle wings on Wednesday, April the 30th at 9:20 am in her home in Barnsdall with family holding her hands. She will be forever remembered as a loving, kind, lady.
Services will be held at11AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Barnsdall, OK with visitation starting at 10AM.Burial will follow at Ethel Reece Cemetery (New Section) in Barnsdall.
