Obituary published on Legacy.com by Furlong Funeral Home - Summerville on Jan. 7, 2026.
Betty L. Wright, age 97, of Brookville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at Brookside Assisted Living.

Betty was born on November 4, 1928, the sixth daughter of Burgess and Ethel (Hughes) Ishman of Summerville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Summerville High School and worked for 14 years at Sylvania, followed by a 33-year career at Owens-Illinois Plastics in Brookville, retiring in 2005.

Betty dedicated her entire life to her family. She was a tireless worker who found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was camping, shopping, sharing a laugh, or playing on the floor with her grandchildren. She had a playful sense of humor, a kind heart, and a deep love for those she held close. Her warmth, spirit, and unwavering love for her family will live on through the generations she so lovingly helped raise.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald P. Wright, and her only son, Gerald D. Wright.

She is survived by her loving family, including her grandson Mark (Diane) Wright of Granby, Colorado; her granddaughter Michelle (Jeremy) Strawcutter of Evansville, Indiana; great-granddaughter Stephanie (Zak) Willis of Evansville, Indiana; great-granddaughter Madison (Matt) Eberle of Madison, Wisconsin; great-grandson Michael (Abby) Strawcutter of Henderson, Kentucky; great-grandson Alexander Wright of Cranberry, Pennsylvania; and great-great-grandsons Royce and Korbin Willis of Evansville, Indiana.

A funeral service will be held at Furlong Funeral Home in Summerville on Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
