Betty Jo Wright, 83, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Betty was born February 20, 1942, in Cairo, Georgia, to John and Clara Barwick Underwood and lived in Appling County since 1972.

A compassionate matriarch, Betty exemplified warmth and kindness, never meeting a stranger throughout her life.

Betty’s proudest accomplishments were centered around her family, who were the anchors of her life. She nurtured and supported her loved ones, embodying the very essence of a devoted family member who prioritized the well-being of others above all else.
