Betty Jo Wyatt Behan was called home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the age of 84.
Betty was born in her family home in Marthaville, Louisiana, on September 22, 1940. She was the fifth child of ten. At the young age of 15, she lost her mother, and as the oldest child at home, she became the caregiver of her younger siblings.
At the age of 18, Betty met and married the love of her life, Kenneth. They moved to Shreveport in 1962 and raised their two daughters in a loving home with Christian values. When her daughters became teenagers, Betty went to work for the Caddo Parish School Board as a clerk at Broadmoor Jr. High School until she retired.
Betty dedicated and devoted her whole life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport for 38 years, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and singing in the choir. Upon moving to Benton in 2000, she joined Cypress Baptist Church and was a faithful member for the last 25 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ennis Wyatt; siblings, Olin Dean Wyatt, Darlene Payne, Lee Wyatt, Tessie Wyatt, Jimmy Wyatt, Dottie Williams, and James Wyatt. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Behan; daughters, Deborah Gail Brock, and husband, Matt of Benton, LA, and Phyllis Marie Ennis and husband, Dennis of Collierville, TN; grandchildren, Greg Ennis, Philip Kennedy, Kelly Bufkin, Ashley Ennis, Justin Ennis, Brooke Withers, and Kaleb Weaver; 12 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Lester Wyatt, and wife, Icy; sister, Nancy Hinson, and husband, Joe along with several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice, all the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Willis Knighton Bossier and Intensive Specialty Hospital, and a very special thanks to Dr. Ahmed Virani.
