Bettye W. Rickman was born in Corinth, Mississippi on January 19, 1946 to the late Gilbert and Lucille Wagoner. She departed this life on September 14, 2024 due to ongoing health complications.
Bettye was a graduate of Michie High School. Upon her graduation, she married her husband Jim and moved to Memphis, TN where she worked at the department store Julius Lewis, ultimately working her way up to merchandise controller. She later returned home to Michie, where she worked for Cities Services as an office manager and had her only son, Jeff.
Bettye loved spending time with family and keeping up with her grandchildren, who she never failed to brag about. Bettye also enjoyed watching college basketball, especially the University of Memphis and Duke University.
Bettye is survived by her husband, Jim Rickman; only son, Jeff Rickman (Jill); grandchildren, Michael and Robert Rickman; and many nieces, nephews and their children.
