Bevan Johnston

On June 18, 1981, Bevan Johnston was born to Barbara A. Johnston and the late Bernard Johnston in Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Bevan received his education in Philadelphia at West Oak Lane Christian Academy, Shawmont Elementary and Roxborough High School. He furthered his education by attending St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Bevan accepted Christ at a very young age. However, he was later baptized at Christ Chapel Evelyn Graves Ministries. Here, he was able to express his love for the Lord as an usher and praise dancer. Bevan held jobs at Wilkie Buick, Young Scholars and Special Vacations. Many did not know that he was an avid soccer player for the Hunter Soccer Club as well as Roxborough High School. Family and friends will always cherish the wonderful memories and good times shared with Bevan. His spirit will be carried on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly, especially his sons, Jalen and Kyler. Bevan was a loyal friend, always there for any occasion. He was light-hearted with a wonderful sense of humor. He was someone you noticed as soon as he walked into a room. He was sociable and was the life of the party. Bevan was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Johnston; his brother, Andre Browne; cousins, David Haith, Barbara Haith and Andre Strum; grandmother, Clarabelle Gilbert; grandfather, Robert L. Haith; and great-grandmother, Madalyn Williams; and step-brother, John Cummings, Jr. He leaves to mourn: two sons, Jalen Anthony Johnston and Kyler Jarell Johnston; his mother, Barbara Cummings (John); five brothers, Brian Johnston (Keisha), Brendon and Brice Johnston, Terrell Lucky (Darrell) and John Jones; three sisters, Ericka (Nikki) Browne, Patrice Mayo (Aaron), and Shena Cummings; grandmother, Daisy Cummings; seven nieces, Anita and Brianna Johnston, Jai'Lah Cummings, Shena Quarles, Sierra and Siani Lucky and Jonarah Cummings; a nephew, Justin A. Browne; three aunts, Madalyn Holliday (Gregory), Sandra Haith and Helen Johnston; two uncles, Anthony McGoue and Joseph Gilbert (Angelita); a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
