Beverly Amato Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel from Feb. 16 to Feb. 18, 2026.
With heavy hearts and enduring faith, we share that Beverly Angela Maniace Amato went home to the Lord on February 11, 2026. Though we grieve her absence, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.

Born on March 21, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bev was the beloved daughter of Charles and Flora Maniace. She spent her early years in Cleveland before making Georgia her true home. While she also lived in South Carolina and California, most of her life was rooted in Georgia, where she deepened her faith, centered her life around family, and built lifelong friendships wherever she lived.

Bev was a devoted mother to Joe Amato, Jenny Amato, and Katie Parivechio (Rodney Parivechio). Her greatest joy was being "Grandma" to Jacob Amato, Olivia Amato, Carly Parivechio, Lilah Amato, and Brady Parivechio. She had a special gift for making her grandchildren laugh and feel completely adored. Even more remarkable was her ability to make each grandchild feel individually special, forming a unique bond with every one of them. She was also a beloved aunt, great-aunt, and cousin, holding a special place in the hearts of her extended family.

She is also survived by her loving partner, John Mishkula, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy, and by her loyal and protective dog, Annie, who never left her side.

Bev is survived by her sisters, Joanne DiTomaso and Susie Lyczkowski (Bob), with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and sisterly bonds.

Many in Savannah knew Bev as the warm and welcoming face of a pediatrician's office, where she worked as a receptionist and made every family feel at ease. She had a natural gift for connection - strangers became friends, and friends felt like family.

Her Catholic faith guided her life. She found strength in prayer and joy in her church community. She loved Christmas, time with friends and family, traveling, water aerobics, reading, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. She had an easy smile, a gentle humor, and a way of making life feel lighter simply by being present.

Bev's legacy is one of steady love, open arms, and unwavering faith. She taught us that the greatest gift we can give one another is our presence.

A visitation and Rosary will be held at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., February 27, 2026, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Wilmington Island in Savannah, GA. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
