Beverly E. (Dibble) Barbano
April 10, 1934-February 21, 2022
Beverly E. Barbano, age 87, of Elkland passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday February 21, 2022 at UPMC Wellsboro, PA with her family by her side. Born April 10th 1934 in Harrison Valley, PA, She was the daughter of the late Harold H, & Esther (Widger) Dibble. Beverly graduated from CVHS. She married Ugo L. Barbano in 1953. They shared 30 years together until his passing in 1983. In 1979, she graduated from Elmira College, where received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development. Beverly was a teacher at the Headstart Center in Elkland where she made a positive impact on the children she taught. She was known as Mema, not just to her grandchildren/great grandchildren, but to so many more. She served on the Elkland Library board and helped out at story hour. She was on the committee for the Senior citizens dinners She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Elkland, PA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Beverly is survived by her children, Anita (Chris) Cicora of Montoursville, PA, Ugo J. Barbano of Elkland and Peter (Wanda) Barbano of Addison, NY. She is also survived by grandchildren, James Buchanan of Hegins, PA, Emily (Josh) Miller of Hughesville, PA. Laura Nespola of Saylorsburg, PA, Cynthia Nespola-Mezick of Philadelphia, PA, and Jennifer Nespola-Lantz of Reading, MA; Four great grandchildren Ellie & Landon Miller, Harlie & Maddix Buchanan. Many nieces/nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Roland, Walter & Laverna Vargeson She was also preceded in death by her grandaughter, Kathryn Eileen Barbano. Burial at Highland Cemetery in Elkland will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Elkland Library, 110 East Parkway Ave, Elkland PA 16920. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com
