Beverly Jane Winter was born on October 11, 1931, to Albert and Eva (Hildebrandt) Winter at their Moline home. Bev attended Roosevelt, Coolidge, and graduated from Moline High School (MHS) in January, class of 1950. Her mother passed away when she was 9 years old and she was raised by her father and two aunts.
Bev married Leo William Boyle on June 9, 1956, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline. She was employed by Paul Johnson Insurance/Real Estate in downtown Moline until the birth of her daughter when she became a stay-at-home mom, an occupation she relished. She thoroughly enjoyed raising her 3 children and supporting their activities. Her family was most important to her, and she loved the times they spent together.
Bev was raised with a deep faith that was important to her throughout her entire life. She was an active lifetime member at Calvary Lutheran Church. Bev was involved with the Woman of the Evangelical Lutheran Church; Mary-Martha Circle; baking and helping at funeral luncheons; and working countless hours at church rummage sales.
Bev will be remembered fondly for organizing and helping with all of the MHS January 1950 class reunions. She remained close to her high school friends throughout her lifetime. Bev took great pride as a “Moliner”, where she was an avid sports fan her whole life. She was also proud to be an honorary life member of the PTA.
Bev deeply treasured her four beloved grandchildren and took great pride in their achievements. Her six great-grandchildren held a special spot in her heart. She met her most recent 3-month-old great-grandson just a week before her passing.
Bev loved going on bus tours with her close friends; taking walks; playing Mexican train with her family; and her true love was sending cards and letters to her family and friends for all special occasions in their lives.
Survivors include her children, Christy (Mark) Adamson, Scott (Cecilia) Boyle, and Bradley (Julie) Boyle; grandchildren, Ryan (Carol) Adamson, Stacy (Robert) Meteer, Austin (Faith) Boyle, and Allison (Griffin) Kuntz; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Adamson, George Adamson, Walter Meteer, Everly Boyle, Blair Boyle, and Grover Kuntz; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; only sibling, Dale Winter; sisters-in-law, Joan Winter, Marilyn Boyle, and Vivian Hammes; brothers-in-law, Paul Boyle and Edwin Hammes.
