Beverly (Bev) Sue Bowyer, 76, passed away peacefully on 06/10/2024 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Joseph, MO.
Beverly Sue Bowyer enjoyed crafting coasters, attending church, being involved with JAM (after school camp for children), along with other church activities, her passion for family and friends, and supporting those in need. She spent some years going on Mission Trips to various Native American Reservations, and also international mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, and Africa (specifically Kenya,) where she helped build schools, a hospital, rebuilt and built churches, and she took a bucket list trip with husband Larry. She will be remembered for her work in the church, her involvement in her family activities, her passion for helping others, and her crafts.
She was born on 06/16/1947 in Columbus, KS to Lula Mae Pharr (Hurst) and adopted by Ernest "Ernie" Randall and Orpha Elizabeth Randall (Simpson).
Beverly Sue Bowyer is survived by daughters, Janet "Jenni" (Tracy) Barton, Kristin (Matthew) Njoroge; step-daughters, Lara (James) Strube and Amy (Robert) McComb; grandchildren, Gage (Lindsey) Barton, Gabriel Barton, Ann Njoroge, and Xavier Njoroge; step-grandchildren, Samantha Strube, Cassandra Strube, and Alicia Strube; great grandchildren, Emma Barton and Owen Barton; and step great-grandchild, Brandilynn Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Bowyer, and a sister, Barbara Trotter. Beverly was a beloved licensed pastor, LPN and EMT.
The memorial service will be held Friday, June 14th at the Word of Life Church, St. Joseph, MO at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow. Another service to follow at later date at the Union Church in Effingham, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AseraCare Hospice or memorial of your choice, and may be sent in care of Rupp Funeral Home.
