Beverly J. Burton

1947 - 2022

Beverly J. Burton, 74, of 6639 St. Rt. 31, Durhamville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her home. She was born on July 26, 1947, in Albany, the daughter of Albert and Ruth D. Christman Ricketts. She was a 1964 graduate of Canastota High School and later went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in accounting. On May 26, 1972, Beverly was united in marriage to Harry A. Burton, Jr. in Trinity Episcopal Church in Canastota. Beverly was a longtime accountant at Oneida Limited prior to their closing. She then went to work for White’s Management in Clinton. Beverly enjoyed teaching country line dancing with her husband. She was a former member of the North Country Rabbit Breeders and was a breeder and exhibitor of miniature polish rabbits. She also was a member of the Canaltown Quilters. Surviving besides her loving husband of fifty years, Harry; are two daughters, Chastity (Ken) Kaczor, of Durhamville, and Danielle (Dale) Scribner, of Oneida; three step-daughters, Babbi (Scott) Dickson, of Hampton, VA, Barbara (Alan) Cordary, of Sherrill, Brenda Burton, of Rome; nine grandchildren, Michael Burton, Robert Cordary, Hillary Cornelius, Evan (Beth) Dickson, , Brooke Scribner (fiancé, Matt Hood), Dustin Scribner, Amanda Scribner, Samantha Kaczor, and Emily Kaczor; five great-grandchildren, Delilah, Violet, Mikey, Scarlett, and Gracie; a sister, Linda (Jim) Reed, of Delaware; two brothers, James Ricketts, of Long Island, and Donald Ricketts, of Canastota; four aunts, Carol Seitz, Lucille Wall, Audrey Wilcox, and Laura Ricketts; and several nieces and nephews. Beverly was predeceased by a son, Paul Landers and his father, George; a sister, Sandra Ricketts; and a grandson, Aaron Kazcor. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Wampsville. There are no calling hours.
