Beverly Jane Galloway

Beverly Jane (Dowden) Galloway, age 93, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Ingalls, Indiana on August 16, 1932, to Kenneth and Esther (Hedrick) Dowden. She graduated from Fortville High School. She married Lawrence Galloway on July 19, 1952.

Beverly worked for the Indiana State Highway Department for several years before retiring in 1992. She taught the Literacy Program in Indianapolis for many years. She also enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and painting.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Carroll and Karla (Mike) Morrison; six grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Sharp, Michelle (Craig) Martin, Steve (Liz) Galloway, Nicole (Johnny) Valencia, Ashley Cooper, and Nathan (Kelsey) Cooper; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Dowden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Galloway; son, Mark Galloway; daughter-in-law, Carol Galloway; grandson, Shad Carroll; brothers, Sam Dowden, Art Dowden, and Jack Dowden; and sisters, Burnhalou Young, Janet Austin, and Phyllis Cruse.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Park Cemetery, 621 S. State St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Those attending the graveside service, please meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
