Beverly was born 0ct. 10, 1939. She grew up on a farm outside Leipsic, DE and graduated from John Bassett High School in Smyrna. She was employed by Capital School District as a payroll clerk. Prior to her retirement, she met and married William Gruwell, moved to Sarasota, Florida, then to Brownsville, Texas, then on to Las Vegas, Nevada and finally back to Delaware where they lived their final years.
Beverly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, traveling, attending yard sales, crafting, and especially playing "Texas Hold Em" at the casinos.
Beverly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Lewis Schwartz of Cape May, NJ, and her stepdaughter, Vicky May of Gettysburg, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mandy Sawyer, John Blevins, Jason Blevins, Ashley Joiner, Taylor Rhodes and numerous great-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, William Gruwell, her son, Jeff Blevins and her parents Author and Ruth Rubsy.
A memorial service will be held in the future.
