Beverly Bodie Jackson, 79, of Pelion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Thomas O. Bodie and Reta Mae Bodie. A lifelong resident of Pelion, Beverly graduated from Pelion High School in 1964 and was always active in her community.

She was married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Sammy S. Jackson, for 54 years until his passing in 2023. Beverly retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Prison Industries Division. Beverly loved God, her family, and the Clemson Tigers. Even as her mind and body grew weak, she continued to sing church hymns, say "I love you," and cheer, "Go Tigers!"

Known lovingly as "Nana," Beverly adored her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her sons, Sam, Jr. (Heather) and Andy (Valerie); grandchildren, Sam Jackson, III (Mollie), Tim Jackson (Katelyn), Lyndsey Chavous (H.B.), and Aubrey Hite (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Case Jackson, Jonah, Amelia, and Mathias Chavous, and Logan Hite. She is also survived by her sister, Reta Ditmer(Charles); sister-in-law, Carol Bodie; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her deeply. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Wynette Gunter, Minnie Rawl, and Tom Bodie.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock on Sunday, August 24th at Florence Baptist Church, 1720 Windy Wood Road, Pelion, with Bishop Mark Crumpton officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 1200 Pine Street, Pelion. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 o'clock at the church and other times at the home of her son, Andy. Active pallbearers will be: Sam Jackson III, Tim Jackson, Aubrey Hite, HB Chavous, Chad Bodie and Matthew Bodie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Samaritan's Purse.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Care Hospice House in Lexington for their devoted and compassionate care of Beverly.
