Beverly J. Lenz, 82, of Aledo, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Mercer Manor, Aledo. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday January 28, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Memorials may be made to the family or to the Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be left to Beverly’s family at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
Beverly was born on February 25, 1941, in Rock Island, the daughter of Marvin and Valera (Davidson) Cook. She married George Lenz Jr. on May 22, 1960, in Seaton, IL, he preceded her in death in 1993. Beverly graduated from Aledo High School Class of ’59. She received her LPN from Black Hawk Community College in 1977. Beverly worked as a nurse at Georgetown and Mercer County nursing homes in Aledo and a nursing home in Texas. Beverly loved everything crafts, especially sewing and crocheting.
Beverly is survived by her children, Tammy (Lester) David, Aledo, John Lenz, Garland TX, Steve Lenz, Viola, and Robert (Shaila) Lenz, Little York, IL; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Hill, Keithsburg, IL; and brother, Marvin Cook, Little York and many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Georgia Lenz; and beloved friend, Julie Hanway.
