Mrs. Perez was my first-grade teacher in the early 2000s, after I was held back. I was shy and couldn´t focus on schoolwork, but she took her time to help me and believe in me. I found my passion in childcare ever since, and am now an infant teacher. Whenever someone asks me who my role model in education is, I always speak about her.

My sincere condolences to the family. She was the best person, teacher, friend, confidant, and role model. Prayers for comfort.
