Beverly Jeanne Phillips

Beverly Jeanne Phillips Beverly Jeanne (Kirk) Phillips Oct 5, 1930 - March 30, 2023. Beverly was born in Sacramento, CA but her home was in Yuba City where she lived until she married her high school sweetheart, Calvin Phillips. Moving to Fresno in 1949, she and her husband farmed for forty years. At the age of 31 she went to beauty college and became a cosmetologist. After retirement Beverly and Calvin moved back to the Yuba City area where they had also maintained a home.

Beverly was a great granddaughter of Charles H Metteer who arrived in Live Oak in 1854. She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Hansen of Reedley, CA, Julie Carter of Gold Beach OR, and Candie Fleming of Clovis CA; four grandchildren, Eric Hansen, Meagan Hansen, Phillip Carter and Mollie Harried; and 6 greatgrandchilden. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Calvin U. Phillips, her mother and father Lucretia Metteer Kirk and John S. Kirk Sr.; brother John S. (Jack) Kirk Jr.; sisters Earline Powell and Florence Thompson.; several nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Yuba City High School class of 1948 taking part in many reunions and keeping track of old school friends, some even from kindergarten. Beverly was a member St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City. Grave side services will be at Sutter Cemetery on April 14th at 1:00. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. American Heart Assn or St Andrew Presbyterian Church.
