Born on February 10, 1950, to Lloyd and Wilma (Blanchard) Zubrod, Beverly's life was one of unwavering dedication to her family, her work, and her passions.
Beverly's journey began in the heart of North Washington, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of a tight-knit community. It was there that she met the love of her life, Roger Schwickerath, during their school years. They exchanged vows on a beautiful autumn day, October 31, 1970, at the Immaculate Conception Church. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, first in Charles City before laying down lasting roots in North Washington. Beverly was heartbroken when Roger passed away, but she continued to carry their shared memories with grace and strength.
A graduate of New Hampton High School in 1969, Beverly's nurturing spirit led her to become a Nurses Aid, where she first began her career as a Candy Striper. Her caring nature shone brightly as she supported those in need with kindness and compassion. Beverly later brought joy to many through her work at a local bakery and eventually at Sara Lee, where her warmth was felt by all who crossed her path.
Beverly's creative talents were many, with a particular flair for drawing and cake decorating. She was the artist of the family, capturing the beauty of life on paper and in the form of delightful confectionery that brought smiles to countless faces. Beverly's love for animals was profound, with her cherished cats, dogs, and bird receiving the same level of care and affection she bestowed upon her family.
As a mother, Beverly was the epitome of involvement and support. She was the ever-present figure at the park, the poolside, and any destination her children's adventures led them. Her dedication to her role as a mother was unwavering, always ensuring her children had the love and support they needed to thrive.
Beverly and Roger shared a passion for travel, often embarking on excursions to collect mugs from different locales-a testament to their shared curiosity and love of exploration. These trips were more than just journeys; they were the cultivation of a lifetime of memories.
An ice cream enthusiast, Beverly found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, touching the lives of many with her kindheartedness and willingness to give.
Beverly is survived by her sons Dean Schwickerath of Readlyn and Nick (Jodi) Schwickerath of Clear Lake; daughter Jennifer (Danny) Nelson of Vinton; brothers Robert Zubrod of Nashua and Roy (Becky) Zubrod of Florida; sister Nancy Panoch of Florida; grandchildren: Lily, Kira, Marissa, Amanda, William, Madalyn, and Rhyanna; great-grandchild Owen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Wilma (Blanchard) Zubrod; and husband Roger Schwickerath.
