Obituary of Beverly A. Seidel
On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, her 95th birthday, Beverly A. Seidel departed this world for her next adventure, leaving us in the quiet comfort of her Peapack home, encircled by the love and warmth of her family. Beverly's story began in East Orange, NJ, and saw her making homes in Newark and New Providence, before settling in Union to nurture her growing family. She also lived in New City, NY for many years. Seventeen years ago, she chose Basking Ridge as her haven.
Throughout her career, Beverly served with dedication as a postal worker, committing 25 years of service to the US Post Office at the Cranford branch. Beyond her professional life, Beverly's passions were many and varied. She found joy in the tranquility of gardening, especially with her granddaughter Abbey, and the challenges of golf. She also had a keen interest in nice cars and especially loved her BMWs, affectionately being called "BMW Bev". She was a very forward-thinking and independent woman who was ahead of her time. Family often consulted with her for advice on any subject, knowing she always researched the latest cars, products, appliances, etc., giving her best recommendations. She was very computer savvy and dabbled with day trading in the stock market. Her creative spirit was expressed through sculpting and painting, revealing a deep artistic talent. Beverly's culinary skills were a gift to her family, always ensuring a lovingly prepared meal awaited them. Above all, Beverly reveled in her role as a grandmother, treasuring every moment spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Seidel and Eleanor Kozik, and her brother, Herbert "Buddy" Seidel.
Beverly's legacy is carried on through her children, Bruce Zukowski and his wife Robin, Eleanore Wilson and her husband Craig, and Jean M. Peterson, alongside her six grandchildren, Scott Zukowski, Adam, Ryan, Kevin, and Emily Wilson, and Abbey Peterson, continuing the family story.
In keeping with Beverly's wishes, cremation services were conducted in private. Her life, filled with love, art, and the joy of family, will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
