Beverly Anne "Bubby" Shirk

Beverly Anne "Bubby" Shirk, age 59 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Beverly was a longtime member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday school for 32 years. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved following the Lady Vols. She loved the Lord and loved people. Beverly had a special gift of caring for others and making everyone who knew her feel special. Her boisterous laugh was infectious and evident of her fun-natured, jovial spirit. She worked the last 9 years at First Baptist Church, Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ishmael and Louise Shirk and brother, David Shirk. She is survived by sister & best friends Roger & Debbie Doane; nieces, Martha Shirk, Ginger DeBusk (Michael), and Robyn Edixon (Lyle); sister-in-law, Deborah Howe (Eddie); and special great nieces & nephews, Elijah, Ethan, and Elizabeth DeBusk and Sadie and Killian Edixon. The family would like to say a special thank you to staff and friends at Thompson Cancer Center for their care and support.
The family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, with funeral service to follow at Stevens Mortuary, Reverend Kent Williams officiating. The family and friends will meet 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa for a graveside service and interment. In lieu of flowers, consider supporting a mission that was near to Beverly's heart.
