Beverly Smith Obituary

She was born in Ontonagon on Feb. 28, 1929, daughter of the late Edward and Wilhelmina (Laru) Seid. Beverly graduated from Roger Clark High School in 1947. Her dedication to her faith led her to work as a custodian for First Covenant Church, as well as participating in the church choir, teaching Sunday school, the Covenant Women and Ladies Aid. Beverly's busy hands were always hard at work, and she particularly enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking, especially trying out new recipes on her family. She was also a distinguished member of the Pine Creek Birthday Club. Beverly's dedication to family and friends will be deeply missed.
Beverly is survived by 2 daughters, Marjean (Roger) Johnson and Roxann (Rick) Hornik; 4 grandchildren, Peter (Anna Jean) Johnson, Dr. Jonathan (Molly) Johnson, Anna (Dale) Spade and Oskar Hornik (Karolyn Cudnohufsky); 7 great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Fiona, Lucas, Avett, Benjamin and Declan Johnson and Isabella Hornik.
In addition to her husband and parents, Beverly is preceded in death by a son, Marvin Smith; a grandson, Benjamin Johnson; and 8 siblings.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery of Rockland.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
