Beverly Jean (Benjamin) Smith, aged 69, passed away from ongoing health complications on February 1, 2026, at her home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Born on September 13, 1956, in South Bend, Indiana, Beverly was the treasured daughter of the late Donald Benjamin and Helen (Cole) Miller. She was the beloved sister to William Benjamin, Sharon Kaufman, and Michael Benjamin, who all preceded her in death, as well as her cherished son Russel Smith. Surviving her are her beloved sisters, Patti Kenney (Bob) and Linda Stinnett (Bill).

Beverly's memory will be lovingly carried on by her devoted husband, Dennis Smith. Her presence will forever be etched in the hearts of her sons, Brian (Melissa) Smith and Tony Smith, who will miss her more than words can express. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jasmine, Kenna, Bralen, and Sophia Smith, and one great grandchild Bellamae Smith. Beverly's life was a tapestry of love and service, as she embraced her role as a homemaker with devotion and grace. A faith-filled Christian, she poured her love into the upbringing of her children, creating a home filled with warmth, generosity, and laughter.

Those who knew Beverly would remember her for her adventurous spirit and her inclination for travel. Whether it was a recent trip to England that brought her immense joy or the excitement of embarking on a road trip with family, she was happiest when on the move. When not traversing new horizons, Beverly found tranquility in the simple pleasures of life – losing herself in the pages of a good book, challenging her mind with puzzles, and sharing in the infectious giggles of her grandchildren during whimsical tea parties.

Beverly's love for road trips was more than a hobby; it was an emblem of her journey through life – always curious, seeking new experiences, and collecting memories like precious gems. Her motherly touch extended far beyond her immediate family, and she was known to many as the embodiment of unconditional love and care. Warm, benevolent, and adventurous, Beverly’s faith guided her through life and gave her the strength and courage to be the rock for those she loved.

We will remember Beverly Jean (Benjamin) Smith as a woman of incredible love, endless adventure, and unwavering faith. Her story is one of enduring love, a testament to a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her spirit, forever adventurous and faith-filled, will be carried on in the stories and memories shared by all who were privileged to know her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday February 6 at 12:00 noon at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. A time of visitation will take place two hours prior, from 10:00-12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
