Beverly J Sommer

Beverly J. Sommer Goss passed away on Saturday October 25, 2025 in Brookings, SD. A funeral service for Beverly will be held at 10:30am on Saturday November 1, 2025 at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings, SD. A visitation will be held the night prior from 5-7pm at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings, SD.

Beverly was born on September 23, 1936 in Brookings, SD, the daughter of Ida and Clarence Goodroad. She grew up in Brookings attending and graduating from Brookings High School in 1954.

Beverly was united in marriage to Doyle Goss November 28, 2016 in Marshall, MN. She started off working as a homemaker, but later went on to own and run the Quick Lunch. After that she joined the railroad with Chicago Northwestern here in Brookings, SD for 3 years before retiring from Union Pacific after 31 years.

Beverly enjoyed singing, traveling, playing the piano, and guitar. She also enjoyed going garage sailing, spending time with her dogs, family, and friends. She will always be known for her kind and loving personality, being very outspoken, and always willing to help someone in need.

Beverly is survived by her husband Doyle Goss of Brooking, SD; her children Audra (Phil) Burgeson of North Branch, MN, Shane (Shannon) Myers of Lake Elmo, MN, Michelle Buchholz of Brookings, SD, Chastity Sommer of Brookings SD, Amanda (Anthony) Chiccarelli of Brazil, South America; and her grandchildren Malena, Dakota, Skylor, Mandy and Wesley.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Ida and Clarence Goodroad; sons Randy and Scott Myers; Ralph Sommer; and her grandson Richard Myers.
