Beverly Joyce Willis

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Beverly Joyce Harris Willis, who passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Ocean Isle, NC at the age of 93. Born on September 23, 1932, in Baltimore, MD, Beverly lived a life rich with grace, kindness, and dedication to her family, faith, and community.

Beverly's career as a Secretary - Salary and Certification Specialist for Harford County Public Schools in Maryland showcased her unwavering commitment to excellence and service. Her professional life was marked by diligence and a warm spirit that inspired all those who worked alongside her.

In her personal life, Beverly's passions were centered around her family and the joy of creating a welcoming home. She was renowned for her baking skills, hosting delightful dinner parties, sewing beautiful creations, and canning delicious preserves. Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, and she was an active member of her Baptist Church, where she found strength and fellowship in prayer.

Beverly's home was a sanctuary for many; she opened her doors and her heart to offer comfort, good food, and a place of refuge during challenging times. Her generosity and compassion knew no bounds, and she was a cherished friend to countless individuals.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Franklin Delano Willis, and her brothers Linwood, David, and Jack Harris, Beverly leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her daughter, Tamela Willis Abbate of Williamsburg, VA; her sons, Franklin Delano Willis, Jr. of Speedwell, TN, and Randall Goff Willis (Amy) of Fallston, MD. Her seven grandchildren, Jessica Greer (Dave), John (Jera) Abbate, Frank (Callie) Abbate, Abrielle (Nick) Ackerman, Mallan (Jordan) Clark, Zach (Caroline) Willis, and Brynne (Sam) Bish, along with her 12 great-grandchildren, will carry forward her loving spirit. Beverly is also survived by her nephew, David Lee Harris of Titusville, FL.

In this time of remembrance, we find solace in the profound impact Beverly had on each of our lives. Her warm smile, generous heart, and steadfast faith will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

At this time, there will be no formal services. In honor of Beverly's memory, we encourage friends and family to gather in their own homes, sharing stories, laughter, and perhaps a slice of pie, just as she would have loved.
