Bill Barber Obituary
Bill was born on February 6, 1957 in Salisbury, North Carolina and was the youngest son of the late Clarence Gilmer and Alma Lucille Waddle Barber. He was a graduate of West Rowan High School and Columbia Bible College. Bill retired from Electric Motor and Repair where he proudly served his customers for 29 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia and enjoyed being a part of "The Way" Sunday School class and life group.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alma Barber, his brother-in-law, Dana Lippard, and his sister, Rebecca Gerou.
One of the things Bill treasured the most this side of Heaven was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years - Becky along with their children: Cathy McFarland (Russell), Tricia Barber, Alan Barber (Kirsten), Evan Barber (Ashley), Eli Barber and their 10 grandchildren (all of Lexington, SC). Bill is also survived by his brother, David Barber and his wife Nancy of Atlanta, GA, his sister, Susan Lippard of Salisbury, NC, as well as numerous in-laws and cousins.
The family will receive family and friends at 4:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2025 at Lexington Presbyterian Church - 246 Barr Road, Lexington SC, 29072 with a celebration of life service to follow at 5:00 PM. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, at Christ Episcopal Church - 3430 Old US Hwy 70, Cleveland, NC.
Bill cherished Ambassador Camp in Lake Waccamaw, NC where both he and his children attended in their childhood, and it helped shape their lives for Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you would consider giving in Bill's memory to the camp. This small camp will do mighty work for the Kingdom with your gift. givetoambassadorcamp.com

Becky, I am so sorry for the loss of your Bill. I always enjoyed our time with yall before church would be begin. He was a wonderful man and fought his cancer battle with bravery. I will miss seeing him at Church.

So sad to hear about Bill's passing, Becky. I know his legacy will live on in your children and great grandchildren - may they be your comfort in the days ahead. I wish I'd known if his involvement at Ambassador Camp. My dad was camp pastor there several years and I went along and enjoyed my time there.

I done business with Bill for 25 years while I worked at Akebono/PBR and SCIH and he was always so very helpful. Always answering the phone very politely and when I got to visit Elecric Motor and Repair he always had a smile on his face and a great attitude. I´m sure he will truly be missed by his clients To his family I send my condolences to your family. You had a great husband, Dad, Grandad and brother. May God confort you in the days to come.
