2 Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.
Billie Jack Davis (Bill), age 95 of Mineral Wells, Texas, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 21, 2023 while at home with his family by his side. He was born on November 13, 1927 to Burton and Faye Davis of Wolfe City, Texas.
Bill lived a very fulfilling career in a number of fields in his 60+ working years doing work that he loved which kept him young and sharp. He spent the majority of his work life as a pilot Crop Dusting fields in the Texas Panhandle, followed by time served flying for Air America in Asia. Later, he served as a Corporate pilot flying executives and dignitaries and then served as a Helicopter Pilot Instructor at Fort Wolters Military Base in Mineral Wells. Following his flying career, he owned the Model Boot Shop, a family western wear store in Mineral Wells. The remainder of his career went well into his 80's as the Master Electrician of Davis 4 Electric.
On September 23, 1955 Bill married Oleta (Moffett) and together they became the proud parents of four children.
During his life, he enjoyed motorcycle stunt riding and flying planes and helicopters. He loved spending time with his wife and large family. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, wood working, gardening & his roses. He enjoyed helping people in need by using his skills as an electrician and delivering Meals on Wheels into his 80's. But most importantly, Bill loved the Lord Jesus Christ and sought to serve and honor Him in all his ways. At different times he was a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and went on foreign mission trips. He loved to share the love of Jesus with those he met. He attended Fairview Baptist Church. Bill's life spanned from 1927 to 2023. People often talk about the importance of what happens during the dash period between the day we are born and the day we die. Bill strived to make the most of his 95 years doing the things he loved with the people he loved and serving the Lord in ways he knew how.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ethel Roberts and his son-in-law Que Edwards. He is survived by his wife Oleta, his sons Kerry Davis and Ron (Pam) Davis and daughters Shirley Edwards and Vicki (Harlan) Edge. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Amanda) Davis, Troy Kinder, Micah (Coraima) Davis, Que Edwards IV, Madi (Brady) Leach and Amber (Natalie) Edwards as well as 11 great grandchildren, Everleigh Davis, Emry Davis, Aubrie Kinder, Xayden Kinder, Eleanor Kinder, Vivian Davis, Lillian Davis, Hudson Edwards, Riggyn Leach, Parker Leach and Peyton Prejean.
