Bill Downing Obituary
He was born December 18, 1947, in Norwalk to the late Glenn and Charlene Downing. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School, attended trade school in Youngstown and served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, enjoyed putting puzzles together, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Jason (Heather Corder) Downing of Norwalk, Susan (Homer) Null of North Fairfield and Jennifer Downing of Norwalk; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Den (Arlene) Downing of Monroeville and Charlene (Carol) Lewis of North Monroeville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline (Scheid) Downing in 2020; and brother, Charlie Downing.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
