Bill Eugene Evans

Bill Eugene Evans - age 82 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 22, 2026. He is a member of Carter Road Missionary Baptist Church. In our eyes there was no better Dad. We were blessed to have him; he never failed to tell us to say our prayers every night before we went to sleep. He will be truly missed.

Preceded in death by his father, Leroy Bridges; mother, Jewel Bridges; brothers, Roy Wayne & Ricky Allen Bridges; nephew & niece, Joshua Shoemaker, Christina Bridges; father & mother in-law, Bruce and Wanda McCroskey; brothers in-law; Steve, Mike and Tony McCroskey; sister in-law, Donna Bridges

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kay Evans; sons Ray "Wam" Turner , Timothy & Jacob Evans; daughters, Tammy Gilmore & Sarah Storey; grandchildren: Isabela Rettman, Trevor Derryberry, Richard and Dillon Gilmore; great grandchild, Sulivan Derryberry; brothers, Ronnie (Tina)Bridges, Donnie, Kenny, Jerry (Libby), Rocky (Debi), Danny (Sandy) Bridges; sisters, Diana Huff, Pat (Eddie) McCoy, Cathy (Jim) Snyder, Penny (David) Shoemaker and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with funeral service to follow at 2 PM Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Kenneth Bridges and Danny Bridges officiating. Interment to follow at Bethany Church Cemetery, Racoon Valley Road, Knoxville. Pallbearers: Daniel Nichols, Jason Hogue, Trever Derryberry, Adam Derryberry, Jeff Bridges, Todd Lay. Honorary pallbearer: Ray Turner. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
