Age 85 of Kankakee, Illinois, formerly of St. Anne, Illinois passed away at his home on July 14, 2025.
Born on January 24, 1940 in Papineau Township, Bill was a son of the late Donald and Theodora (Wilson) Hubert. He was raised in St. Anne and graduated from St. Anne High School with the class of 1958.
Bill spent his career in the trades, working with both the Local 501 Pipefitters Union and the Local 571 Laborers’ Union. Over the years, he contributed to a wide range of projects and often took on leadership roles as a foreman. He was known for his strong work ethic and straightforward approach on the job.
Outside of work, Bill enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he rarely passed up a chance to be on the golf course. He enjoyed watching softball, football, and drag racing. He had a strong interest in classic cars and regularly attended local car shows. Bill was outgoing, enjoyed time with friends, and valued his family. Known for his easygoing nature and hands-on approach to life, he left a lasting impression on those around him.
Survivors include his four children: Mark (Katarina) Hubert of Colorado Springs, Colorado, David Hubert of Los Angeles, California, Paula (Chris) Hopkins of Miles City, Montana, Audra Nanay of Schererville, Indiana; grandchildren: Kristina, Cierra, Garret, Tyler, Julienne; great grandchildren: Delilah, Acacia, Aurora; brother, Ray (Regina) Hubert, and niece, Dana Dickson.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Suzanne; daughter in law, Juliette Hubert and niece, Amy Provost.
Per his wishes cremation rites are being accorded.
Memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's name to the St. Anne Presbyterian Church, 334 South Saint Louis Avenue, St. Anne, Illinois, 60934.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on August 2, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Anne, Illinois from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life.
