William Franklin Huey (Bill) of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the age of 77.
Born on June 26, 1948 in Atlanta Georgia, he grew up in a military family of 6 boys. As part of a military family he moved around but lived for the longest period in Lawton Oklahoma where he graduated from Lawton High School in 1967.
Bill enlisted in the US Army in Oct 1967, was schooled in Finance and served in Viet Nam Oct 1968 – Oct 1969. Upon return, he was stationed at Ft McPherson, GA until his honorable discharge in April 1976.
After the Army he attended Oklahoma State University School of Technology where he majored in heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration and became a heating and air conditioning technician.
Bill was very giving of his time and helped his brothers and others with various projects from fence building, HVAC and plumbing to name a few. Bill had a love for motorcycles and drove them most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John M Huey Sr. and Willie Lou Huey and brother Wayne C. Huey. He is survived by his brothers: John M Huey Jr. and his wife Diane; James T Huey, Colonel USA Retired; Charles E Huey and his wife Robyn; and Robert A Huey and his wife Pat.
Along with nieces and nephews Becca and husband Dale McGowan, Beth and husband Al.
Levine, Charity Huey, Faith and husband Anthony Venditti, Jason Huey, Laura and husband Jon Bratley.
