Bill Hunter

I first met Bill in London during the 60's. He was a friend of mine named Ricky Felgate also Rex Brown. I think he was in a play named Summer of the Seventh Doll. He told me about On the Beach. We had some good times at The Old Round Table. Half of Cooking Bitter!! Many years later one of my girlfriends owned the house that Nevile Schute wrote on the Beach...next door lived Alec Guinness. I always watched Bills Films. RIP. Ray.

Bill Hunter met my dad at the botanical pub in south yarra where they had a beer together in the early 80's. Bill and dad had a $2000 bet on a horse that had won the melbourne cup in the late 30's. Dad won the bet and bill signed a chq on the spot. It was a highlight of dad's life. Dad passed away in Jan, 2011 so i can't ask him what horse it was! Hope u have a beer and a bet together wherever.........

Don't forget when you see your man above to ask" Where do I stand and what do I say" ? Thanks for the great memories and the laughter and sometimes sadness we shared together.Its hard to believe we wont be sharing a beer together again.I will miss you lots.

I am an Aussie, living in the U.S. for the past 35 years. Whenever I saw Mr Hunter in his movies it always rekindled the Aussies I knew and remembered. He was truly an Aussie icon and made a great contribution to Australian movies.

I pray that the family finds comfort from the pages of the Bible and rely on God to help you. He has the power to do so if you pray to him and ask of it.

I love 'Muriel's Wedding' and 'The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert'. Two great, and very funny films.
I am not familiar with other works by him, but he left some great memories in these two films.

actors are reported all the times as a great loss but bill will have no idea the impact he had on my life. muriel's wedding, strictly and pricilla are watched and re watched by me and all my friends. we quote his 1 liners daily! it's like losing a friend. so sorry! will be truely missed xxx
