William C Lepel, best known as Bill or Billy, was born March 15, 964, in Ulysses, Kansas to Stanley and Joy Lepel
Bill was raised southwest of Walsh on the Lepel farm.
When Bill was 10 years old Joy moved Brenda, Dean and Bill to Springfield where he attended school and graduated.
Bill worked at Springfield IGA for several years then worked for Lonnie Arbuthnot farming for a few years.
Bill moved to Elkhart, Kansas, where he has lived for several years. He helped Dennis Mackey custom cut and he worked at Scott Powers for a number of years. The last few years he has operated his own custom harvesting business.
Bill's favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed going to Lake Texhoma. Sometimes Alex would meet him there or he would spend time with his friend, Don Turner.
Bill passed away at his home in Elkhart. He is preceded in death by his brother, Dean Lepel; father, Stanley Lepel; son, Darrett Lepel; and cousin, Craig Claunch. Bill is survived by his son, Alex of Oklahoma; his mother, Joy of Springfield; sister, Brenda and husband Aaron Kerr of Thornton, Colorado; nephew, Brian Kerr of Peyton, Colorado; niece, Katie Kerr of Kansas, great-nephew, Chase and great-niece, Lila. Two uncles and two aunts, several cousins, including Jamie McEndree and her family of Springfield, also survive.
