Bill Ed Van Beber, Jr. age 82, of Clarksville, TN passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Bill was born on January 14, 1944, to the late (Ret. Lt. Col.) Bill Ed Van Beber, Sr. and Ruby Massengill, in Middlesboro, KY.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Vivian Ann Howell, daughter Elizabeth (Jay) Fowler, brother-in-law Phillip Howell and nephew Michael Howell.

Bill is survived by his son Bill Ed Van Beber, III, of Clarksville; his brother Richard (Donna) Van Beber of Milton, FL; grandchildren Aren Eckstein and Jenna Van Beber both of Clarksville, and Katelyn (William) Black of Bluefield, WV; nephews Paul (Melanie) Van Beber of Collinsville, OK; Mark (Marie) Van Beber of Guthrie, KY; and Carson Carey of Clarksville; niece Shellie Howell-Finch of Oakland, TN; sister-in-law Janet (Stan) Cook of Clarksville; great nephews Jake and Tommy; great niece Kylie.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Austin Peay State University majoring in History and went on to earn his master's degree from Austin Peay State University. He was a retired History/Social Studies teacher from the Clarksville Montgomery County School System having taught at Barksdale Elementary and New Providence Middle School.

Bill was a long-time volunteer First Responder with the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery County EMS. Most recently he enjoyed staying active through volunteer work with the Citizens Police Academy & Alumni (C.P.A.A.). As one member stated openly since Bill's death "he was also a big supporter of local public safety, especially the Clarksville Police Department." He was a member of First Christian Church, Clarksville, where he taught Sunday School for many years.

As Bill wished there will be a brief Graveside Service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with military honors. The service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Stan Cook presiding. Family and friends are invited to attend.
