Billie Jo Bohreer

Billie Joe (Hudson) Bohreer was born on August 18, 1927 to Pearle and Guy Hudson. She was raised by her mother in McCurtain after her father was killed in a coal mining accident. She left home to help provide for her family at the age of 14 and worked in shipyard in California.
She married Roy Bohreer on September 24, 1946. They built a wonderful life together in McAlester, Oklahoma where they raised their daughter, Nancy (Bohreer) Kinkead. Billie was a very active person. She was employed at the First National Bank, the McAlester Fuel Company, and the United Artist Okla and Cinema 69 Theatres. Billie enjoyed working with the public.
She visited most of the continental United States during her lifetime. Whether it was in a trailer or 5-star hotels, Billie loved an adventure. She shared her love of the outdoors with her family by teaching them to fish, camp, cook, and experience the world around them. She was defined by her love of life and her love for her family.
Billie was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bohreer in 1995; her great granddaughter, Kristin Baldwin Powell; her brother Guy Hudson Jr. in 2022; sister Bobbie Ann Hudson in 2012; and her parents.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bohreer) Kinkead of Park Hill, Oklahoma; her beloved sister-in-law, Marlene Hudson of McAlester, Oklahoma; her sister, Thelma Ruth Lowe of Keota, Oklahoma; her grandchildren: Lisa Williams (Skip) of Galena, Kansas, John Baldwin (Lori) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Robert Kinkead of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and James Kinkead of Park Hill, Oklahoma. She also has 12 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren who loved her and will miss her very much.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home led by Stephen Dunbar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. John's the Evangelist in McAlester celebrated by The Very Reverend Jovita Okonkwo. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Kinkead, Archie "Skip" Williams, Christopher Kinkead, Adam New, Christian Hernandez, Eli Williams, and John Baldwin.
