Billie Jean Carter

Billie Jean Carter, 79, of Enfield, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born on November 27, 1945, in Greenville, SC, the beloved daughter of the late William and Mattie Lee Amos. Billie Jean lived most of her life in Enfield, where she became a cherished member of the community.
A woman of deep faith and simple joys, Billie Jean had a passion for reading, playing the piano, and tending to her garden. Above all, she found her greatest love in her relationship with Jesus Christ, which was the cornerstone of her life.
Billie Jean is survived by her three sons: Douglas Grigaitis and his wife Cindy, Christopher Grigaitis and his fiancée Korry Grozyk, and James Grigaitis, all of Enfield. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Molly, Victoria, Bryce, Olivia, and Nina; as well as her loving sisters, Martha Tolden and Priscilla Jasma, and her brother, Walter Amos.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 25 years, William David Carter, who passed away in 2015.
A private graveside service to honor Billie Jean's life will be held.
