Billie Kitchens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scottsboro Funeral Home on Mar. 31, 2026.
Billie Gail Kitchens, age 73, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever feel her absence. She was a devoted mother, a source of strength, and the heart of her family.

Billie, had worked at Jackson County hospital in earlier years and wrote articles for The Daily Sentinel that many enjoyed reading every month. She enjoyed playing the violin as a child and was an avid piano player.

Billie was the proud mother of four daughters: Charis (Matt Stephens), Farrah (Brett Smith), Brittany (late husband Clark Roberts), and Kenzie (Ryan Wright). Her girls were her world, and she loved them fiercely through every season of life.

She was also a loving grandmother to Brianna & Dan Ledford, Wylder Smith, Spencer Smith, Bentley Allen, Keyton Allen, Rue Roberts, Carter Wright, Erin, Derek Smith, and Kinley Parker. Nothing brought Billie more joy than her grandchildren.

Billie was blessed to be a great-grandmother to Aubrey Ledford, Emery and Ezra Smith.

To know Billie was to know love, resilience, and unwavering devotion. She had a way of showing up-whether through words, actions, or simply being there when it mattered most. Her love will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Billie is survived by her loving sister Melody Kendall, and many nieces and nephews.

Billie was proceeded in death by her parents Rev. Billy Kitchens and Betty Kitchens, and Brother Dennis Kitchens.

Though her passing leaves an ache that words cannot heal, her memory will remain a guiding light for those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
