Billie Rogers Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 29, 2025.
Billie Evelyn Rogers was born September 6, 1929, in Snyder, Texas to John B. Thompson and Lena Mae Gregory Thompson. She married Garland B. Rogers on November 17, 1946, in Stephenville, TX. They were married 54 years.

She loved gardening and taking care of her plants and flowers in her yard. However, her greatest love was sewing. She worked at a sewing factory in Mineral Wells. She made countless clothes for adults, kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Quilting was especially her favorite aspect of sewing. No one knows how many quilts she made over the years. She even donated quilts to orphan's homes.

She was a faithful member of Lipan church of Christ.

Survivors include two sisters, Novalene Thompson West of Abilene, Jewel Thompson of Granbury, one child, Karen Mae Rogers Bird, eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Rogers, brother, Bobby Thompson, and two sons Warren Lane Rogers, Sr. and Jerry Duane Rogers.

Services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Lipan Church of Christ, 112 N. Caddo Street, Lipan, Texas 76462. Visitation 1pm, prior to the service. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Lipan, Texas.
