Billy Earl “Bill” Ballard, Jr. passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, in a Fort Worth hospital. Bill was born January 23, 1962, in Waco, son of Billy Earl Ballard, Sr. and Mary Joanna Ballard. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. First and foremost, Bill was a Christian. He was a humble man, who was a cowboy at heart. Bill found joy and beauty in the simplest things. He loved to rope, ride, and enjoy the western life. Bill was always willing to mentor, give advice, and guide those who needed it. One of his favorite things to do was go on trail rides with friends, and alone, to spend time in the beauty of God’s creation. At the same time, he never met a stranger and made friends easily. Bill was a storyteller, and he loved to bring joy to others by entertaining them through his stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and a brother, Mack Kincer.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Beckie; daughters, Amy Ballard Peterson and husband, James, and Beth Ballard; stepson, Phillip Blackmon and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ballard and Cooper Blackmon; sisters, Debbie Summers, Pam Young, Vicky Dawson and husband, Rusty, and Brenda Kincer; brother, Keith Kincer and wife, Stacey; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
Over the years, Bill touched thousands of lives, and will be missed by all who knew him. One rose, one love, one heart.
