Billy Joe Martin, 67, of East Bend, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. Bill was the son of the late Bobby Alton Martin and Corena Martin Hall.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband to Libby for 45 years. Known affectionately as “Pops” and “Pop-Pop”, Bill was loved and cherished by his children and grandchildren. He was a history buff who also enjoyed playing bass guitar. He was a faithful and active member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. His deep faith and love for others leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Martin.

Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his wife, Libby Riggs Martin; sons, BJ Martin (Hannah), Cody Martin (Carolyn), Chad Martin, Chevy Martin; grandchildren, Sky, Hailey, JT; sister, Gina Johnson (Rick); brothers, Dana Martin, Todd Martin (Renee) and numerous extended family members. 

The family will visit with friends Monday, March 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, at Solid Rock Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Jason Penley will officiate the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Solid Rock Baptist Church at 3448 Pilot View Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
