Billy Earl Bordeaux, 82, of Elizabethtown, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 14, 2007.
Mr. Bordeaux was born in Bladen County to the late Alston Asbury and Earle Bordeaux. He retired from the United States Navy with twenty-four years of service. He served in World War II, as well as the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Bordeaux was also a retired dietician from Bladen County Hospital. He was a Masonic member for over fifty years and was a member of the Bladen County Masonic Lodge 646, A.F & A.M.
Mr. Bordeaux was predeceased by his wife of fifty-three years, Rose Burton Bordeaux; and three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by one daughter, Peggy Bordeaux-Dalton of Fayetteville; three sons, Thomas Earl Bordeaux and wife, Joan, of Elizabethtown; Douglas Bordeaux and wife, Vickie, of Elizabethtown; and David R. Bordeaux and wife, Carol, of Wilmington; six brothers, Alton Bordeaux of Sumter, SC; Ronald Bordeaux and wife, Vergie, of Roper, NC; Robert Bordeaux and wife, Jenny, of Gainsville, FL; Richard Bordeaux of Elizabethtown; Gordon Bordeaux of Wilmington; and Travis Bordeaux and wife, Sadie, of White Lake; one sister, Mary Sue Newcom of Virginia; and five grandchildren, Kevin Bordeaux, David Dalton, Daniel Bordeaux, Tiffany Bordeaux McDuffie, and Jonathon Bordeaux.
A visitation is planned for Sunday, September 16, 2007 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Bladen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Monday, September 17, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Bordeaux Family Cemetery on Susanna Lane/Sweet Home Church Road with Rev. Jim Woodruff officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove for the love, care, and support given during this recent illness.
