Billy James “Pa Bill” Casey, age 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 30, 2026. He was born on July 25, 1934, and lived a life marked by humility, faith, and deep love for his family.
Pa Bill was a precious and gentle soul, known for his quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to God. He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived his faith daily, serving as an example of what it means to walk humbly and faithfully. His greatest joys in life were his family, time spent together, and a good day on the golf course.
He was married to the love of his life, Mildred Casey, for 71 blessed years. Together they built a strong, God-centered family rooted in love, perseverance, and faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Cox Casey, of the home; son Ricky Casey (Leona) of Galax, Virginia; daughter Karen Prevette (Tim) of Traphill; daughter-in-law Shelby Casey of West Jefferson; and sister-in-law Betty Jo Casey of Traphill. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Bryan Casey (Tiffany), Katrina Miller (Brett), Anthony Casey (Brittany), Addison Brooks (Ashley), and Andrew Prevette (Megan), as well as 11 treasured great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Benny Casey, whom he now rejoins in Heaven. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that Pa Bill has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” He is at peace, healed, and forever in the presence of Jesus. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at By Faith Baptist Church. The burial will follow at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Elkin Funeral Service on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Flowers will be accepted.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation, as well as extended family and friends, for their love, support, and visits.
