Billy Charles Obituary
BILLY ROBERT CHARLES, 90, of Big Rock, VA, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center following an extended illness. Born October 6, 1935, in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Tom and Lona (Griffey) Charles. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Chrsitian faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired coal miner. Billy enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ann (Hagy) Charles; Daughter: Becky Denise Adkins; Brothers: Warren Gene Charles and Haven Charles; Sister: Darlene Ratliff.
Those left to cherish his memory include Daughters: Brenda Stiltner of Big Rock, VA, Rita (Joe) Justus of Hurley, VA; Grandchildren: Rebecca Stollings, Billy (Chrissy) Thacker, Robert Thacker, Curtis "Bo" (Jessica) Thacker, Mary Justus, Billy Justus, Melissa (Hison) Stacy; Great-Grandchildren: Terrance Stollings, Jade Stollings, Alexis Thacker, Lois Lowe, Sherry Lowe, Brenda Thacker, Keanna Keaton, Johannah Yates, Dwayne Justus, Dillon Justus, Nathan Justus, Brianna Stacy and Sarah Stacy; Great-Great-Granddaughter: Raylynn Mae Stacy; Sisters: Betty (Jim) Cox, Donna Stacy and Joanna Stacy; Brothers: Lee (Brenda) Charles and Willie (Peggy) Charles.
Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday and Friday evenings at 6:00 P.M. with services on Friday at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services for BILLY ROBERT CHARLES were conducted Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shea Shrader and Pastor Eddie Wilson officiating, burial to followed in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Active Pallbearers were family and friends.
