Billy DeWayne Cogburn

Billy DeWayne Cogburn, 64, was born on April 24, 1961, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Wayne A. Cogburn and Billie Ruth (Irvin) Cogburn, He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon "Renea" (Cogburn) Rutledge.

Billy was a life-long resident of Choctaw County. He spent his professional life working with his hands, spending many years working at the local radiator shop and as a plumber. Beyond his work, Billy was a man of many interests. He was frequently found conversing with friends near and far on his CB radio where his voice was well-known across the airwaves. Billy made countless friends and shared stories, advice, and laughter. Gardening was another of Billy's interests and he took great pleasure in teaching others the secrets of his thriving garden. He also liked fishing and hunting and often found solace in nature. Billy will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on through the stories shared by those who knew and loved him.

Billy is survived by his nephews, Charles Preas and Robert Preas and friends Chad Taylor, Ken and Rhonda Cooper and Floyd Coffey along with many other family, friends and loved ones.
