Billy John "Bill" Collier, 78, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away on July 4, 2025. Bill was born on January 11, 1947, in Paris, Arkansas, the son of James and Hattie Collier.
Upon graduation, Bill served his country with valor and distinction as an Infantry Soldier in the Vietnam War in 1968-69. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star medal. Bill met and married Valorie Warren on December 27, 1974, in Paris, Arkansas. They were happily married for fifty years.
Bill founded the Head Quarters, a salon in North Little Rock and they shared a career as barbers for forty six years, serving hundreds of clients many of whom stayed with them for decades. Bill was an avid and competetive racquetball player. He also loved being outdoors, biking, boating, and water skiing. He loved riding motorcycles with friends (especially the late Ed Jackson with whom they both survived a harrowing near death accident).
Bill is survived by his wife, Valorie, a daughter, Tiffani Walt, a son-in-law John David Walt; four grandchildren, David, Mary Kathryn, Lily, and Sam; a sister, Dora MacDonald, and many nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
Bill will be buried with full military honors on August 22, 2025, at 11:00 O'clock in the morning at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock with The Reverend Paul Holderfield officiating.
