Billy Gates Obituary
Billy was employed by Lozier for many years. He had a passion for working on old cars, a hobby that brought him much joy and a sense of tranquility. His quiet demeanor was a comforting presence to all who knew him. He was a loving, kind hearted, husband, dad, grandpa, and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (Thatcher) Gates; children, Sharon Rowe (Mike) and Kim Tyree (Fred); grandchildren, Tresha, Tracy, Brittani, and Kelsie; great-grandchildren, Adalie and Mekhi; brother, Jaydee Gates and sister, Judy Friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Greg Gates; and brothers, Denny and Gary Gates.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jaydee Gates, Mike Rowe, Fred Tyree, Anthony Fink, Matt McGarry and Mekhi McGarry. The family invites friends for a time of visitation on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, Missouri.
Funeral arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
