Billy Grider

Billy S. Grider, age 86 of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was born on August 29, 1937, in Russell Springs, Kentucky to the late William and Ruth (Coffey) Grider. Billy retired from General Electric as a Quality Engineer after 46 years of faithful service. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a certified Journeyman in the air conditioning industry and also taught Engineering at UofL Speed School. Billy loved working on cars and anything electronic. You could give him a box of parts and he would build a computer for you. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Grider and Mike Grider.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Rita Koehler Grider; daughter, Jennifer Lynne Cox (Christopher Calvert); granddaughter, Chevelle L. Cox (Antonio W. Jefferson); great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Layla, Antonio "Baby Tony", Amiri and Kody; sister, Glenda "Dena" Winkler; brother, Larry Grider; sister-in-law, Patty Grider; son-in-law, Gregory S. Cox and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 7 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 1 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
