Billy Hilton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home - Alvarado on Dec. 22, 2025.
Billy Paul Hilton, Sr. passed away on December 20, 2025, in Alvarado, Texas. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Hubart Paul Hilton and Melba Faye (Chandler) Hilton.

Billy was a man who taught what it meant to be a man not through long talks, but through how he lived each day. He led by example and proved that actions truly speak louder than words. He was rarely one to sit still for conversation, but if you truly needed help, he would be there as soon as he could-no matter how many other things were demanding his time, which, as everyone knew, was always a lot. He showed the value of hard work, even on the days when you had every reason to be tired or lazy.

Most importantly, Billy taught-alongside his beloved wife-that love isn't always hugs, kisses, or gifts. Sometimes love looks like taking your family fishing or sitting together watching a movie. Those quiet, steady moments were where his love shined brightest.

Billy was a jack of all trades, known especially for his work as a house mover. He took pride in honest work and a job done right.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife, Glenda, whom he missed dearly. Tammy Hilton and Billy Hilton, Jr.

Billy is survived by his children: Melinda Brookins (Ellis); Charles Hilton; Helen Beach (Paul) and Cecil Taylor, brother (in-law).
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Allen Morrow, Maurice Morrow, Natalie Brookins, Alyssa Hilton, Carmen Stephens (Colby), Marcus Brookins and Becca, Charles Hilton, Mercedes Scott (Austin), Margie Brookins, and Meranda Hilton and Jacob Hilton; and by nine great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Baxter and Kim Minyard.

Billy will be missed more than words can express. One can only hope that heaven had a pickup full of junk, a good watermelon, and a fishing pole waiting for him. His family promises to carry forward every lesson he taught and pass them on to the next generation of Hiltons.

P.S. Tell Grandma Fingerhut almost misses her as much as we do!
