Billy Mack Humelsine

Billy "Bill" Humelsine, age 75 of West Jefferson, passed away February 4, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Bill was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 10, 1950, to George and Reta Humelsine. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in chemical engineering. After college, Bill worked in the textile industry, fulfilling many different roles over the course of his career. He holds several patents from his research and development days and was fortunate to travel the world for his company as well. Bill had a strong love of music, especially singing in the church choir. Some of his fondest memories were of performances he was able to be in. He was a lifelong learner and enjoyed helping others with his knowledge. Bill loved to spend time with his friends and family.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kelly Pope of West Jefferson; his son, Michael Humelsine (Chelsea) of Tallahassee, Florida; his mother, Reta Humelsine of Elyria, Ohio; two brothers, Larry Humelsine of Lorain, Ohio and Thomas Humelsine of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Karin Hamrick (Dan) of Amherst, Ohio; four grandchildren; his partner Brenda Morris; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father George Humelsine, and his wife Rebecca Kanipe Humelsine.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
