William “Billy” Rhoden Hutcheson, age 88, passed away on February 3, 2026, under the compassionate care of Community Hospice. He was born on July 10, 1937, to Estil and Myrtle (Toler) Hutcheson. He was raised in Tattnall County and would go on to graduate from Reidsville High School in 1955. Following graduation he entered the auto parts industry, dedicating more than 40 years to this line of work. As his experience grew professionally, he would later become the owner and operator of Tattnall Auto Parts. From his hometown store, he faithfully served countless customers not only from Reidsville but surrounding communities as well. Clients flocked to do business with him because of his reputation for honesty, dependability, and genuine care for those he served.
Billy was an avid sports fan and a true “Georgia Boy” at heart, proudly cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. His love for sports extended beyond merely watching games, as he devoted many years to coaching softball and traveling with local athletes for tournaments, encouraging young players both on and off the field.
A deeply faithful man, he was a devoted member of Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church and found great comfort in gospel music. Above all he listened to the whisper of the Holy Spirit, loved God above all, and lived by the message found in Matthew 22:37–39, where Jesus teaches, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Billy was a kind and steady presence in the lives of many. His legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his beloved wife of 67 years, Peggy Hutcheson; two children, Ken Hutcheson and Tina K. (Dennis) Epps, both of Claxton; two grandchildren, Keri (Phillip) Blackwood and Kaci (Chance) Dunham; seven great-grandchildren, Graycen, Savannah, Sadie, Briggs, Beau, James, and Blair; a brother, Lonnie (Linda) Hutcheson of Collins; three sisters, Marguerite Dubberly of Reidsville, Joyce Moye of Reidsville, and Carol (Joe) Kucera of Virginia; along with other friends and relatives who also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Reidsville City Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating.
Low Country Cremation & Burial is honored to serve the Hutcheson family during this time of bereavement.
